Rules

Sydney Football Cup is powered by World Football Group and will be held at Rockdale Ilinden Stadium on the 18th & 19th of July 2024

  • * Small Sided Games 7v7 (Field size is 35m wide x 40 long) 
  • * 28 Minute Games with no half time break and a four minute turn around time between games.
  • *All times for the games are controlled by management with a synchronised hooter.

Conditions of Registration:

  • Players must be registered with their own age group in the age which they played during the 2024 season.
  • Referee's decision is final and can't be disputed.
  • 2 overaged players are permitted to play per team.
  • Players are not permitted to play in more than 1 team. They must only play in the team they have registered for.
  • You are allowed to play in the age group that corresponds to the age you reached in 2024
     
  • Game Rules:
     
  • 1. Game formats are strictly 7 v 7.
  • 2. There are offsides.
  • 3. When the ball is out of play, the ball must be thrown in - Foul throws apply.
  • 4. Goal kicks are taken with the GK or field player taking a goal kick from anywhere inside the box.
  • 5. Attacking players are not allowed to stand inside the box when a goal kick is taken.
  • 6. Points are as follows: 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.
  • 7. If a team forfeits it will be recorded as a 3-0 loss.
  • 8. If teams have the same points it will be decided as follows:
    • - H2H goal difference.
    • - Team with the most wins.
    • - 3 shot penalthy shootout 
  • 9. Players must wear boots with moulded studs. Metal studs or screw ins are NOT permitted.
  • 10. Shin pads are compulsory. Any player without shin pads will be instantly given a yellow card.
  • 11. Two Yellow cards will incur a one match suspension; Red cards will incur a minimum two game suspension.
  • 12. Ball sizes are relevant to what they played with in the 2024 season. U8’s will play with size 3 and U9’s, 10’s, 11’s, 12's will play with size 4.
  • 13. Goals are 5x2m for all age groups.
  • 14. Sydney Football Cup prefers team kits to be numbered and best efforts should be made to wear different kits to the opposition.If the goal keeper kit clashes they must wear a bib.

    Finals 

    - If the game ends in a draw, extra time will be required. There will be a 4 minute turnaround time / break until extra time starts. 
    - 10 Minutes of extra time with no half time break .
    - Penalty shoot out to decide winner.
